Nokia has return to the global smartphone stage with the launch of the Nokia 6, the android smartphone designed to attack the affordable segment of the market. Over a million people have reportedly already registered their interest in buying the phone on JD.com, the online Chinese retailer that has exclusive rights for the device. Nokia has enjoyed a impressive return to the smartphone market, according to new figures which claim the company’s latest handset sold out in record time. Nokia 6 has a compelling look, a smooth metal exterior and available in five colors, including a limited edition glossy Arte Black. The phone comes with a 5.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels at a PPI of 403 pixels per inch. There’s 2.5D Gorilla Glass on the top, giving friendly soft curves to the edges of the display, leading into the bodywork.
The device is powered by 1.1GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Processor and it comes with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The storage can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. Available as both single SIM and dual SIM variants. There’s a central fingerprint scanner beneath the display, flanked with back and recent app buttons. It measures 154.00 x 75.80 x 7.85 (height x width x thickness) and weigh 167.00 grams. The CPU used is Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 and GPU used is Adreno 505.
There’s 16-megapixel f/2.0 granted with phase detection autofocus rear camera with 1.0µm pixels and 8-megapixel f/2.0 granted with autofocus front camera with 1.12µm pixels. Plus the dual-tone flash on the main camera helps you take natural-looking photos, even in low light. It reports a 84 degree field of view, so it’s fairly high resolution and wide aperture, so should be good for selfies. As it also have autofocus, so those selfies should be nice and sharp.
The Nokia 6 runs Android 7 Nougat. There is no bloatware however, no pre-installed apps, other than the standard Google apps, and there’s no changes to other areas of the phone. It will stay secure and up to date with regular software updates.
